2025 Exhibition - Tea and Cake -
- Click On This for Larger Image (Opens in New Window)   The kitchen and food stall had new volunteers joining the regulars to serve a nice array of savouries and cakes with tea and coffee which were most welcome given the warm conditions on yet again a very busy day.

Setting up the exhibition on Friday night and dismantling and cleaning up afterwards takes time and effort. There was a good turnout of helpers. Much work goes on behind the scenes prior to this. Many thanks to all the volunteers. This year we were the dream team – everything going without a hitch!

We welcomed some new visitor faces and new volunteers. Old friends caught up and new contacts were made.
Many commented on the day and afterwards on having an enjoyable time.
All in all, a very successful day again!

All visitors were made very welcome !
ENTRANCE WAS FREE !
All exhibition costs (such as accommodation hire & insurance) were covered by our Group.

Wednesday 25th June 2025
  - Group Members’ Visit to
      Saint Cuthbert’s Church, Marton

Our History Group’s trip to Saint Cuthbert’s Church in Marton was organised for Wednesday 25th June 2025 for a guided tour by members of the church and volunteers..

The graves of partners Henry William Ferdinand Bolckow and John Vaughan (the founders of modern Middlesbrough) are found in the graveyard.

Inside the Church we saw the baptismal record of Captain James Cook circumnavigator and several stained-glass windows including one commemorating him. Small carved mice were also spotted on the woodwork.
